Overview
The electrical fire panel — commonly the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) — is the central command hub of the entire automatic fire suppression system. It receives every detector signal, applies alarm-verification logic, and dispatches coordinated commands to suppression, evacuation and building systems in the correct sequence.
Core functions
- Centralised signal processing
- Alarm-verification logic to reject false alarms
- Automated command dispatch to suppression and evacuation
- Zone mapping and diagnostics
- Continuous self-diagnostics
- Backup-power integration
- Remote monitoring and reporting
Why it matters
The control panel is what transforms a collection of individual sensors and suppression devices into a single, coordinated, intelligent system. Without it, each device acts in isolation; with it, detection, suppression and evacuation act together — reliably, verifiably and under continuous self-supervision.
