Overview
Suppression is the layer that turns detection into decisive action. Once a fire condition has been confirmed, the suppression system physically extinguishes, contains or suppresses the fire — automatically, and without requiring human intervention.
How it works
Depending on the nature of the protected space and the materials at risk, an automatic suppression system may use:
- Water-based systems — sprinklers, water mist and deluge
- Clean-agent gas suppression — inert gases or FM-200 / Novec 1230
- Foam-based suppression for flammable-liquid fires
- Dry-chemical and powder-based systems
- Kitchen-hood suppression for commercial cooking lines
Key features
- Automatic, no-delay activation
- Zone-specific discharge
- Application-matched agents
- Fail-safe agent reserves
- Post-suppression monitoring
Why it matters
Suppression is where an automatic fire system delivers its most tangible value — stopping property damage, protecting critical assets and, above all, protecting human life. A correctly engineered, application-matched system stops a fire in a way that protects the specific assets and occupants unique to that environment.
